Abstract

This research study investigates the complex and multifaceted issue of women's rights and their role and position within the framework of Islamic law across various Muslim-majority countries. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines qualitative techniques, including literature reviews and expert interviews, with quantitative methods such as survey questionnaires and statistical analysis. The findings reveal diverse per-spectives and interpretations surrounding women's rights in Islamic law, influenced by factors such as patriarchal biases, cultural norms, and legal reforms. While the core principles of Islam emphasize equality and justice, the implementation of Islamic laws concerning women's rights has varied across different societies, leading to disparate experiences for women. The study highlights the need for contextual and progressive interpreta-tions of religious texts, challenging discriminatory practices, and promoting gender equality in areas such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and politi-cal participation. Through inclusive dialogue, grassroots movements, and collaborative efforts among stakeholders, Muslim societies can work to-wards restoring the rightful position and dignity of women, aligning with the egalitarian spirit of the Quran.
