Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has ushered in a new era of digitalization, bringing both opportunities and challenges to the field of Islamic religious education. This study explores the role of Islamic religious education teachers in balancing digital literacy and Islamic values in the face of the digitalization era. Digital literacy has become an essential skill for students to navigate and thrive in the digital world, while Islamic values and principles must be instilled to guide their ethical and responsible en-gagement with digital technologies. The integration of digital literacy and Islamic values presents both opportunities and challenges for Islamic reli-gious education teachers. This study discusses strategies for effective integration, such as incorporating digital literacy skills into Islamic studies curricula, utilizing digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning, and fostering critical thinking and ethical reasoning among students. Additional-ly, the study addresses challenges and ethical considerations, including navigating online spaces responsibly, addressing issues like cyberbullying and online privacy, and fostering ethical decision-making based on Islamic principles. Collaboration, professional development, and a commitment to value-based education are highlighted as essential components of this endeavor.
