This research examines the manifestation of adab (Islamic ethical) values in the rhetoric of students at As'adiyah Islamic University Sengkang through ethnographic communication analysis. The research aims to iden-tify how Islamic thought influences student speech patterns in academic and social contexts. Using a qualitative approach with ethnographic com-munication methods, this research involved participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis over six months. The results show that Islamic adab values such as politeness (ta'dzim), humility (ta-wadhu), and wise word choice (hikmah) are significantly reflected in stu-dent rhetoric. These Islamic value-influenced communication patterns form a distinctive communicative identity, combining Bugis local wisdom with Islamic principles. This research reveals that Islamic-based educational institutions play an important role in shaping communicative competence that prioritizes adab values, thus having implications for the development of communication-based character education in Islamic higher education institutions.
