Keywords:
Islamic ethics, Miskawayh, human perfection, theological ethicsAbstract
This study explores the theological ethics in Islamic philosophy through an in-depth analysis of Miskawayh's conception of human perfection (al-insān al-kāmil). By examining his main work, "Tahdhīb al-Akhlāq" (Refinement of Character), this research investigates how Miskawayh synthesized Aristo-telian ethics with Islamic theological principles to create a comprehensive framework for moral development and spiritual perfection. The research reveals that Miskawayh's ethical philosophy presents human perfection as a harmonious balance between intellectual virtues and moral character, achievable through disciplined practice and rational reflection. His ap-proach not only contributed significantly to Islamic ethical discourse but also created a philosophical bridge between Hellenic thought and Islamic theology. This study contributes to broader discussions on comparative ethics and highlights the enduring relevance of classical Islamic ethical frameworks in addressing contemporary moral challenges
